Levi Morgan Armstrong February 29, 1992 - October 19, 2011
In the Fall of 2011, I sent my son Levi away to school for his sophmore year in Denver, just like most of your parents have recently sent you to JMU. I never dreamed he would never come home again. He loved Colorado, and he loved making movies, so he was enrolled in the Colorado Film Institute near Denver. He loved his major, and was very happy living in the state where he was born. In October Levi was in a fatal car accident on I70 near Vail. There were no drugs or alcohol involved. He was 19 years old.

While it is still very difficult to address this in class, I want you to know about him, and understand some of our assignments may come from my experiences with my son, and how I have had to learn to come to terms with losing him. My grief communication is not the best yet, but I am learning how to talk about him without falling apart. If I stop talking about him, it will be as if he was never here, so don't ever be afraid to ask any questions about him. Feel free to check out his memorial website and learn more about my Levi.
